20+ years as a trusted advisor and sounding board for leaders navigating ambiguous, high-stakes people decisions. Brought in by venture-backed and scaling companies to build HR from the ground up. Manage cross-border U.S./Brazil/Latin America/Global teams, and get the compensation right while still moving fast.

Policies, employee handbooks, and HR infrastructure built from the ground up designed for companies moving fast without an HR function yet. In my fractional practice, a from-scratch HR portal and a 20+ policy handbook cut employee inquiries to the HR helpline by more than half.

As more companies build engineering and operations teams in Latin America & Brazil, HR has to bridge both worlds - culture, compensation, and compliance on both sides. I've managed HR through a cross-border acquisition in São Paulo (Motorola's integration into Google), built compensation and benefits structures for a Brazil market entry (Glanbia), and led regional HR across 6 Latin American countries (Samsung).

Pay structures that are competitive and defensible, in the U.S. and across Latin American markets. My compensation and organizational redesign work has delivered over $1.3M in workforce cost savings without sacrificing retention.

Workday and other HR systems, planned and delivered on time as headcount scales. I led a 100%-on-time regional Workday implementation at Hitachi Vantara.
I'm Leonard Pinto a global HR leader with 20+ years building HR functions, coaching and leading distributed U.S./Brazil/Latin America/Global teams inside organizations including Hitachi Vantara, Nutanix, Motorola, Samsung, Glanbia, and OpenText.
